Greenville, S.C. – Coming off a Southern Conference Tournament title and NCAA second round appearance, Furman men's soccer is ranked No. 20 in Top Drawer Soccer's preseason top 25, it was released on Monday.
 
The 2025 Paladins return four All-SoCon performers from a squad that finished 9-4-6, captured the league title and automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, and advanced past No. 17 North Carolina on penalty kicks before falling to eventual national runner-up Marshall in second round play. SoCon Goalkeeper of the Year Aaron Salinas headlines the list of talented returnees that also includes 2024 all-league selections Lloyd Wamu Snell, Wilfer Bustamante, and Luke Hutzell.
 
The Paladins, who claimed an exhibition victory over NCAA Division II Lees-McRae on Saturday evening, are set to open the regular season at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday versus UC San Diego at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C. Furman takes on preseason No. 8 San Diego at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Durham before entertaining North Greenville in the home opener on Thursday, August 28, at 7 p.m. On Sunday, August 31, Clint Dempsey will be in attendance at Stone Soccer Stadium for his jersey retirement ceremony as the nationally ranked Paladins host preseason No. 15 Duke on Seagraves Field.
