Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's soccer team caps its season-opening four-match homestand this weekend with home matches versus the Bob Jones Bruins and Charleston Southern Buccaneers.
The Paladins and Bruins kickoff at 7 p.m. Friday on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium before the Buccaneers sail into Greenville for a 2 p.m. kickoff on Sunday. Admission is free to both games and Friday night's clash will be streamed live on ESPN+. Live statistics will be available for both games at FurmanPaladins.com.
Furman enters the weekend at 1-1-0 on the season following a 1-0 loss to USF in the season opener and a 2-1 victory over Georgia State on Sunday night. Sophomores
Dylan Daniels and
Jaleah Simmons netted goals in the first victory over the year while
Reese DeJong earned the win in goal.
In the only previous meeting versus Bob Jones during the 2022 campaign, Furman cruised to a 9-0 victory. The Paladins hold a 4-2-0 series lead versus Charleston Southern, including a 3-2 victory in Charleston, S.C., last season.
Jenny Jacobson netted two goals in the 2024 season-opening win.
Friday night's clash marks the first match of the season for Bob Jones. Charleston Southern is 0-1-1 on the season after a 5-0 loss at Syracuse and 1-1 draw at St. Bonaventure last week.
The Paladins will honor their 10 seniors prior to kickoff on Sunday.
