Furman Men's Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule

Paladins To Play 17 Games In Newly Renovated Timmons Arena

2025-26 Schedule

Greenville, S.C. –
The Furman men's basketball team announced its full 2025-26 schedule on Wednesday, which includes 17 home dates at the newly renovated Timmons Arena and nine home games against opponents that reached postseason play a year ago.

The Paladins open the campaign on October 26 when they host 2025 NCAA Tournament participant Alabama in the first event at Timmons. Following a highly anticipated matchup against 2025 NCAA squad High Point in the regular season opener at the Field of 68 Tip-Off Marathon in Rock Hill, S.C., on November 3, Furman will entertain defending Sun Belt Conference champion Troy in the home opener on Friday, November 7.

CBI participant Queens, Ivy League member Harvard, and Charleston Southern will also visit Timmons Arena as part of the Paladins' non-conference home schedule, which also includes games against NCCAA postseason participants Columbia International, Ohio Christian, and Bob Jones. The non-conference road slate features trips to Northern Iowa, Elon, and Manhattan, all of which reached the postseason a year ago, along with games against Richmond and either Charlotte or Illinois State in the Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla.

"The entire Furman family is excited about Paladin basketball returning to campus and the opening of the newly renovated Timmons Arena," said Furman head coach Bob Richey. "Our non-conference schedule features teams that are accustomed to reaching the postseason and those challenges will help prepare us for Southern Conference play."

Furman's challenging 18-game Southern Conference schedule opens on December 31 with a visit from Mercer. The SoCon slate features home-and-home matchups against three postseason participants from last season, including NIT champion Chattanooga, Wofford (NCAA), and Samford (NIT). The 2026 SoCon Men's Basketball Championship is once again set for March 6-9 at the Harrah's Cherokee Center Asheville in Asheville, N.C.

On August 25, Furman unveiled the new Timmons Arena, which underwent a $40 million renovation project to turn the facility into one of the premier mid-major college basketball venues in the country. The renovation project, led by Ken Betsch & Associates and Harper General Contractors, was donor-funded with businessman and philanthropist Ravenel B. Curry III, a 1963 Furman graduate, providing the lead gift of $10 million to spearhead the project that was also generously supported by the Timmons and Pelham families in honor of their family's original commitment to the arena in 1997.
