GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman director of sports medicine Mike Brown announced today the addition of four athletic trainers to the Paladin staff.
"I am excited to round our staff with the addition of our four new athletic trainers," said Brown. "They each bring a fresh energy and outlook to our sports medicine department. I look forward to seeing their work assisting our student athletes to help them achieve their goals on and off the field."
Tyler Hrubes has been named an associate athletic trainer and will work with the Paladin men's basketball and men's golf programs. He spent the past two seasons as the athletic training intern for men's basketball and men's golf at the University of Florida. Prior to working with the 2025 national champion Gators, Hrubes served as a student assistant at Marquette University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in 2018 and a master's degree in 2023.
Rachel O'Hare will serve as an athletic trainer for the Furman football team and women's tennis team. A 2023 Furman graduate with a bachelor's degree in health sciences, she went on to complete a master's degree at Virginia in 2025. While in Charlottesville, O'Hare served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Cavalier football and volleyball programs. She also completed an internship with the University of North Carolina football team in the fall of 2024.Â
Avery McAllister has been hired as the Furman volleyball and lacrosse athletic trainer. She spent the 2025 spring season at Clemson, where she worked as an athletic trainer student with the Tiger softball team. McAllister also has previous student assistant experience with the Berry College football team and the Piedmont University men's basketball and men's lacrosse programs. A former women's basketball player at Piedmont, she earned her bachelor's degree in 2023 and finished her master's degree, also from Piedmont, in 2024.
