GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Audrey Ryu has been named the Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for all competition held September 17-23, the league office announced Wednesday.
A junior from Dublin, Ohio, Ryu led Furman to a share of third place this weekend at the 51st Lady Paladin Invitational. She tied for 11th in the 92-player field with a 3-under-par 213 over the tournament's three rounds.
Ryu's performance included a final-round 70, where she birdied No. 6 to turn at 1-under. She then added birdies on No. 11 and No. 13 and parred four of her last five holes to finish the tournament at 3-under. She led the field with a 4.5 scoring average on the par 5s and 41 pars.
This marks the seventh-career SoCon Golfer of the Week honor for Ryu.
The Paladins return to action at the Evie Odom Invitational in Virginia Beach, Va., beginning October 16.
