GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Junior Audrey Ryu (-3) fired a 2-under 70 to tie for 11th and lead the Furman (+2) women's golf team a share of third Sunday to conclude the 51st Annual Lady Paladin Invitational at the par-72, 6,331 yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
The Paladins tied for third with Minnesota (+2) in the 16-team field, while Alabama (-18) won the tournament by 13 strokes over High Point (-5).
A native of Dublin, Ohio, Ryu birdied No. 6 to turn at 1-under. She then added birdies on No. 11 and No. 13 and parred four of her last five holes to finish the tournament at 3-under, five strokes back of individual medalist Harriet Lockley (-8) of Alabama, who recorded rounds of 69-68-71=208 for the victory.Â
Sophomore Jenna Madden (-1) carded a 71 for the second-straight day. She notched three birdies on Sunday and tied for 14th. Freshman Ava Hanneman (+6) shot even par with birdies on No. 11 and No. 13 to jump 12 spots on the leaderboard and finish in a tie for 34th, and sophomore Eva Ringwald (+7) tied for 41st after posting a 77 with a team-high four birdies in the final round. Freshman Olivia Hasselbach (+12) recorded a 79 with a birdie on No. 13 on Sunday, tying for 62nd.
Sophomore Andrea Marin Raga (+6), who played as an individual, fired a career-low 71 with a team-high four birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 1 and No. 2, to tie for 34th, also a career best. Junior Kelsi Mauzy (+20), who also played as an individual, tallied a 77 with three birdies to finish in a tie for 83rd place. Furman will compete at Old Dominion's Evie Odom Invitational, Oct. 16-18, in Virginia Beach, Va.
