GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman's women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday when it plays host to Mercer in a 2:00 p.m. Southern Conference showdown at Timmons Arena that will represent the Paladins' annual Play4Kay Cancer Awareness Pink Game, sponsored by Bon Secours.
 
Fans will have the opportunity to fill out iPlay4 Cards to honor anyone in their lives who has been affected by cancer.  At halftime Furman will host a Survivors' Walk around the court to recognized and celebrate those who have battled the disease.
 
Additionally, fans are asked to help turn Timmons Arena pink by wearing pink to the game!  Bon Secours will be providing pink pom poms, and members of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority will be on hand distributing pink ribbons.
 
Furman (16-11, 8-4 SoCon), coming off a 68-59 home loss to Samford on Thursday, will look for a different result against Mercer (15-11, 5-6 SoCon), which fell to Wofford, 72-58, in Spartanburg on Thursday.
 
The Paladins knocked off the Bears, 60-49, in Macon on Jan. 22 behind a 20-point performance by Alyssa Ervin and career high 18-rebound effort from Clare Coyle.  Coyle (15.0 ppg), Furman's leading scorer, tallied a team high 21 points against Samford.
 
Furman heads into Saturday's action in third place in the SoCon standings, a game behind second place Wofford (9-3 SoCon) and a half game up on fourth place East Tennessee State (7-4 SoCon).
