Greenville, S.C. – Furman softball plays its first Southern Conference home series this weekend when it hosts the East Tennessee State Buccaneers for a three-game series at Pepsi Stadium.
The weekend series begins with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and concludes with a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Saturday is Bark in the Park Day at Pepsi Stadium, and all fans are encouraged to bring their K9 best friends to the ballpark. Admission is free to all games at Pepsi Stadium and all three games will be streamed live on ESPN+. Furman (5-25, 0-3 SoCon) is in search of its first conference win after suffering a three-game sweep at Western Carolina this past weekend. The Paladin offense scored 13 runs in the series, but Furman pitching surrendered 30 runs and 20 walks in 17 innings of work against the Catamounts.
Freshman
Kristyn Embler shined at the plate going 8-for-13 with two doubles, a grand slam, and four RBI in five games last week. The Harrisburg, N.C., product scored seven runs and drew four bases on balls.
Junior
Christina McCoy smacked two home runs in last weekend's series while third baseman
Rachel Hawkins and first baseman
Sylvia Burroughs also went deep for the Paladins. Furman has totaled 21 home runs in 30 games this season after hitting just 14 roundtrippers in 2025.
ETSU was swept in its three-game series versus UNC Greensboro this past weekend and enters this weekend's three-game set at 12-11 overall and 0-3 in the SoCon.
