Greenville, S.C. – The Furman softball team returns to action this weekend with three games at Appalachian State's Mountaineer Classic in Boone, N.C.
The Paladins are set to face the hosts on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium in the weekend's opening game before once again facing the Mountaineers on Saturday at noon. Furman wraps up the brief two-day tournament with a 5 p.m. contest against the Queens Royals on Saturday.

Furman enters the weekend at 2-18 after dropping three of four games at this past weekend's Paladin Invitational at Pepsi Stadium. The Paladins are 17-25 all-time versus Appalachian State and the schools are meeting on the softball diamond for the first time since a 5-3 Furman victory over the Mountaineers in Auburn, Ala., on February 13, 2016. Queens holds a 3-2 lead in the all-time series between the Paladins and Royals, including a 7-6 victory in Greenville last season.
