Insinga Named Newcomer Of The Year, Seven Paladins Selected To Women’s Lacrosse All-Big South Teams

GREENVILLE, S.C. – A total of seven Furman women's lacrosse players received postseason recognition from the Big South Conference, including the Newcomer of the Year, it was announced on Thursday afternoon by the league office.

Graduate student Shae Insinga was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year while also garnering first team All-Big South and All-Academic Team citations. Junior Allie Kandel and sophomore Lily Toole were both tabbed second team All-Big South, and junior Lilly Dyer and sophomore Zoe Milmoe received honorable mention All-Big South honors. Emily Muir and Cate Noone were selected to the All-Freshman Team.

Insinga is the first Paladin in program history to earn Big South Newcomer of the Year accolades. The Wantagh, N.Y., native ranks second for Furman this season in points and goals while sitting third in the Big South in goals and seventh in points. Nationally, Insinga is tied for 36th in goals. She compiled 14 multi-goal games highlighted by a career high six against Austin Peay. She also set new career highs for points and caused turnovers in a game. Insinga achieved three career milestones in 2026, reaching the century mark in goals, points, and draws. She was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week on March 10.

Kandel turned in a career year for the Paladins this season, presently sitting fourth on the team in scoring. A native of Wilbraham, Mass., Kandel has 49 points and is third with 37 goals, also tied for ninth in the Big South, and fourth with 12 assists. Her 33 draws are third-best for Furman to go with 14 ground balls and four caused turnovers. She recorded 10 games scoring at least two goals. In the Paladins' 21-20 win over UMass Lowell, Kandel set new career highs with seven points and seven goals and followed three days later winning a career best eight draws versus Quinnipiac. She also posted new career highs in ground balls and caused turnovers for a game. Kandel was selected Big South Offensive Player of the Week on March 17.

Toole, a native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., was the 2025 Big South Freshman of the Year and followed her sophomore campaign by leading the team in scoring. She currently has 70 points on 50 goals and 20 assists. Toole tops the Big South in points and ranks second in goals. Nationally, Toole is in the top-40 for both points and goals. She has also totaled 13 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Toole has scored in all but two games this season and registered two or more goals in 12 contests. She turned in a season best five goals twice and contributed seven points in a Big South home win over Radford. The preseason All-Big South pick was voted the league's Offensive Player of the Week on March 31.

Dyer has appeared in all 18 games and is currently tied for first on the team with 32 ground balls and sits second with 18 caused turnovers to rank 10th in the Big South. The Baldwin, Md., native started in all eight conference games and tied her career high of four ground balls in a 15-7 league victory at Presbyterian. Dyer picked up three ground balls in five different contests and tied her career best of two ground balls six times. She achieved new career highs in 2026 for ground balls and caused turnovers in a season.

A native of Boxford, Mass., Milmoe is one of five Paladins to start in all 18 games this season. She ranks first on the team with 24 caused turnovers, ninth-best in the Big South, and is tied for first with 32 ground balls. Milmoe recorded her first collegiate point on March 28 in Furman's 17-9 conference win versus Radford. She won the first three draws of her career, also a career high, in the home opener against Austin Peay. Milmoe caused a career best four turnovers in the Austin Peay win as well as in the final home game of the regular season versus High Point.

Muir was one of the top offensive options for the Paladins this year, currently sitting fifth on the team in scoring. The Linthicum, Md., native has played in all 18 games and totaled 28 points on 23 goals, fourth on the team, and five assists. She has also logged three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Muir scored at least one goal in 16 games and netted a career best two seven times. She added one assist in five different games.

Noone has played in 15 games this season and registered five starts. A native of Foxboro, Mass., she is second on the team with 39 draws while adding two caused turnovers and one goal. Noone has won two or more draws nine times this year highlighted by a career high six twice against High Point and this past Tuesday versus Radford in the Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship. In a 15-12 home victory against Manhattan, she caused a career high two turnovers while winning four draws. Noone recorded her first collegiate goal in Furman's 17-9 win versus Radford and won five draws.
