Vazquez Joins Furman Volleyball Coaching Staff

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman head volleyball coach Michelle Young has announced the addition of Noah Vazquez as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2026 season.

A native of Orlando, Fla., Vazquez comes to Greenville after serving as the Director of Volleyball Operations for the Orlando Valkyries of Major League Volleyball (MLV).

"We are excited to welcome Noah to our staff," said Young. "His passion for developing student-athletes, commitment to excellence, and dedication to building meaningful relationships will make an immediate impact on our program. We look forward to the energy, knowledge, and leadership he will bring to our team."

Vazquez worked two stints with the Valkyries, most recently as the Director of Volleyball Operations for the 2026 season. During his lone season in the role, Orlando posted a 13-15 overall record and finished the year on a three-match winning streak. He also served as Volleyball Operations Intern and Practice Player for the Valkyries in 2025. Orlando captured the league championship that season, finishing the year with a 20-10 record and defeated the Indy Ignite, 3-1, in the championship match.

"I am beyond excited to be joining the staff here at Furman," Vazquez added. "I'm very grateful to Michelle for the opportunity and look forward to working alongside her, Kelly, and the rest of the staff. It's not often you get to work for a great university, in a beautiful city, with an exceptional staff, and a talented and determined roster. I've been blessed to have been a part of some very successful teams in the past and look forward to continuing that here at Furman and working to bring some hardware back home to Greenville."

Vazquez spent the 2025 season as an assistant coach at Rollins College, with the Tars recording 16 victories. Marta Tsaneva was a third team All-SSC pick after leading Rollins in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set, and ranked in the top-20 for the conference with a .258 hitting percentage. Tsaneva also sat 12th or better for the league in kills and points.

He was part of the coaching staff at Timber Creek High School as an assistant coach from 2022-24. Timber Creek turned in a 48-30 record and made three straight appearances in the FHSAA Regional Tournament, including a finals showing in 2023. Vazquez led the junior varsity program during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

On the club circuit, Vazquez has worked with Oviedo Volleyball Academy in both head and assistant coaching capacities since 2023.

He was a 16U AAU All-American as a player and also won a 15U AAU National Championship.

Vazquez graduated from the University of Florida in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in sport management.
