GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman University's football team is set to report to campus on Tuesday and open preseason camp on Wednesday with a 9:00 a.m. workout at the Bob King Practice Facility.

The Paladins will practice in shorts and helmets on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and repeat the schedule on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, weather permitting.  All practice times and locations are subject to change.

A total of 115 players make up this year's squad.  Furman has 11 graduate players, three seniors, 23 juniors, 25 sophomores, and 53 freshmen in its program.

The Paladins return 10 starters and 32 lettermen off last year's squad.

Eight Paladins earned preseason all-conference recognition, led by defensive end Joshua Stoneking, a 2025 consensus All-American who last week was named SoCon Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.  Joining Stoneking as a first team preseason all-conference selection was linebacker Raleigh Herbert.

Six Paladins landed second team preseason all-league recognition — center Chris Luna, defensive linemen Demetrius Baldwin and Elihu Lipscomb, safeties AK Burrell and Josh Tarver, and return specialist Caleb Easterling. 

Furman is under the direction of head coach Clay Hendrix '86, who is entering his 10th season at the helm and 33rd year of service to his alma mater. He sports a 60-43 overall record and 45-25 SoCon worksheet as the Paladins' mentor.

Furman kicks off its 2026 season on Thursday, August 27, versus Anderson in a 7:00 p.m. ET contest at Paladin Stadium.
