Greenville, S.C. – Furman goalkeeper Aaron Salinas has been named Southern Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
 
Salinas, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, recorded a pair of saves to notch Furman's third shutout of the season in the Paladins' 1-0 victory over Mercer in the SoCon opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon at Stone Soccer Stadium. The senior has fashioned a 3-1-3 record in goal this season with three clean sheets in his last four matches.
 
Furman (3-1-4, 1-0-0 SoCon) begins a three-match road trip next Saturday, September 26, when it visits new SoCon soccer member Liberty for a 5 p.m. kickoff at Osborne Stadium. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
