CARY, N.C. -- Furman sophomores Lillie Murphy and Elle Warren reached the quarterfinals of the main doubles draw Friday at the ITA All-American Championships at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C.

The Paladin duo qualified for the main doubles draw after winning the doubles title at the ITA National Summer Championships last month.  

Furman's top duo won matches over Wisconsin and North Carolina to open the tournament.  Warren and Murphy defeated Kaede Usui and Ellison Reynoldson of Wisconsin, 6-3, 6-2, in the round of 32 and beat North Carolina's Anna Frey and Alanis Hamilton, 6-2, 6-3, in the round of 16.  The Paladins fell to Ohio State, 7-6(5), 6-4, in the quarterfinals.

Warren and Murphy each picked up a singles victory in the prequalifying singles draw.  Warren topped Maeve Thornton of Tennessee, 6-2, 6-3, and Murphy took down Harvard's Kavya Karra, 6-4, 6-3.
