2020 — Served as a team co-captain...earned starts at quarterback in all seven games (spring of ‘21)...passed for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns...also rushed for one touchdown...fashioned a solid season debut, completing 14-of-22 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns against Western Carolina (35-7 win)...overcame a slow start against Samford to help rally the Paladins from a 24-7 first half deficit to a 44-37 overtime victory, passing for 277 yards and three touchdowns....comeback featured two fourth quarter touchdown passes, including a game-tying, 73-yard connection with All-America tight end Ryan Miller with 2:59 remaining...performance helped him land SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week honors — the second of his career...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
2019 — Made an impact in his first full season of action, seeing duty in 10 games and making a pair of late season starts: vs. VMI (60-21 win) and Wofford...completed 51-of-84 passes for 638 yards and three touchdowns...also rushed 30 times for 147 yards and a pair of scores...first significant action came in a 35-20 win over Chattanooga when he came off the bench and rallied Furman from a 9-0 second quarter deficit to victory, completing 9-of-14 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown while also rushing six times for 52 yards and a score...engineered a 10-play, 58-yard second quarter drive to get the Paladins on the board, and followed it with a 10-play, 80-yard drive that he capped with an eight-yard second quarter touchdown run for a 14-12 halftime lead...capped his performance against UTC by aiding a 31-yard touchdown run by Devin Abrams, aiding Abrams with a push through the line after his momentum was initially stopped...extra effort earned him ESPN Sports Center’s Top 10 No. 7 Play of the Day and netted him SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week...followed the Chattanooga game with his collegiate starting debut against VMI (60-21 win) that saw him connect on 17-of-22 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns, including a 71-yard connection with Abrams.
2018 — Appeared in two late season games as a reserve...completed 3-of-4 passes for 41 yards versus VMI (49-13 win)...awarded redshirt and extra year of eligibility...named to the 2019 SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
High School: 2018 graduate of Mountain Brook (7A) High School, where he was a football teammate of Paladin offensive tackle Anderson Tomlin...football coach was Chris Yeager...took over starting quarterback duties midway through his sophomore season...completed 321-of-485 passes for 5,845 yards and 43 touchdowns in his career...serving as a team captain, fashioned a stellar 2017 season, passing for 2,451 yards and 18 TDs, completing 131-of-198 passes (66.1%) in helping his squad to an 8-4 record and quarterfinal appearance in state playoffs...connected on 17 of 21 passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns and accounted for four touchdowns in all in a 51-50 win over rival Spain Park, completing the game winning two-point conversion pass to seal the verdict...named the Birmingham All-Over the Mountain Team and All-Over The Mountain Co-MVP in 2017...honorable mention al.com and AFCA 7A All-State selection...as a junior earned All-Birmingham Over-the-Mountain honors after throwing for 2,267 yards and 18 TDs...was the starting shooting guard on Mountain Brook’s basketball team, which was ranked No. 1 in Alabama in the 2017-18 season after winning the state title his junior year...also competed in track in the 100m, 200m, and 4x200m relay...captured the state Bryant-Jordan Student-Athlete Award for excellence in athletics and academics.
Personal: Full name is Andrew Hampton Sisson...born December 9, 1999, in Birmingham, Ala...son of Leigh Ann and Tommy Sisson...has two brothers, Miller, a graduate of the University of Virginia, and John, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and a sister, Ann, a 2017 Furman graduate and former cross country/track standout who was a member of four Southern Conference championship cross country teams and was a two-time All-SoCon Indoor Track selection during her Paladin career...scored 35 on his ACT...health sciences major.
