What is the Furman Athletics Fund?
The Furman Athletics Fund is an integral component of our Athletics Department success. Your support provides the necessary resources for scholarships, facilities and program-specific needs for our 350+ student-athletes and 19 NCAA Division I varsity sports while supporting the vision of the Athletics Department and the priorities of our head coaches. This comprehensive philanthropic model recognizes donor support for all gifts that elevate the student-athlete experience.
 
What is the Paladin Scholarship Fund?
The Paladin Scholarship Fund (formerly Paladin Club) is the scholarship fund that operates as the primary means of philanthropic support for student-athlete scholarships. While the Furman Athletics Fund encompasses all athletics giving, the Paladin Scholarship Fund serves as the primary support for student-athlete scholarships. Funding scholarships continues to be a top priority for Furman Athletics, and enhanced priority points, special events and other donor recognition opportunities will be available to donors who support the Paladin Scholarship Fund.
 
Why is the Furman Athletics Fund important?
Whether contributing to scholarships, facilities or sport-specific programs, your gift makes an impact on the student-athlete experience. Many of our student-athletes would not be able to attend Furman without the generosity of Furman Athletics Fund donors. Your gifts create opportunities for Paladin student-athletes to excel in their sports, in the classroom, in the community and in their lives.
 
Which gifts count toward my impact and giving level?
Your Furman Athletics Fund support level will be determined by your overall philanthropic giving to Furman Athletics. This includes contributions made to the Paladin Scholarship Fund.
 
I have been donating to the Paladin Club for years. How does this affect my support?
If your passion is still funding scholarship opportunities, your donation will continue to support student-athletes through the Paladin Scholarship Fund. For Paladin Scholarship Fund donors who support other athletics funds, your annual giving benefits and priority points will also increase under the new Furman Athletics Fund.
 
I currently donate to FFPA, Roundball Club, and/or Circle of Distinction. What does this mean for me?
Contributions made to any of these sport-specific initiatives will still qualify for benefits under the new Furman Athletics Fund benefits chart. Additional opportunities may continue to be offered by the individual program you support. Please contact Athletics Development with other questions.
 
What benefits do I receive for becoming a member of the Furman Athletics Fund?

How is my gift to the Furman Athletics Fund used?
The Furman Athletics Fund empowers you to choose how you want to make an impact. Gifts can be made directly to the area or team you're most passionate about. Unless otherwise indicated, all unrestricted gifts made to Furman Athletics will be applied to the Paladin Scholarship Fund.
 
How do I join the Furman Athletics Fund?
We offer several ways to join the Furman Athletics Fund, depending on what best suits your needs. The quickest way to join is to make a gift online with a credit card. We can also accept credit cards over the phone at 864.294.3469. Checks may be mailed to the following address:

When is my Furman Athletics Fund donation due each year?
The Furman Athletics Fund operates on a fiscal year from July 1 through June 30. To be a Furman Athletics Fund member and receive benefits for the following year, your gift must be received by June 30. Contributions will be accepted year-round.
 
When do my donor benefits become available?
Parking benefits may be available for the current fiscal year based on availability. Other donor benefits such as ticket purchasing opportunities, reception invitations, etc., will take effect in the fiscal year following your contribution. Please contact Athletics Development at furman.athletics.fund@furman.edu with any questions you may have regarding your benefits.

Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes, your donation to the Furman Athletics Fund is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Most gifts made to Furman Athletics will be 100% tax deductible. The value of any benefits will be disclosed annually for reference.
 
How do I order season football and basketball tickets?
All ticket orders are made directly through the Furman Athletics Ticket Office. You can order tickets online or contact the Ticket Office at 864.294.3099 to place your order.
 
What is the matching gift program?
Many companies support employees' charitable giving by matching gifts to the organizations their employees support. If your employer offers a matching gift, the amount matched will contribute to your Furman Athletics Fund giving level for that year. For example, if you donate $250 and your employer matches with an additional $250, you receive credit for giving at the $500 level. Please check with your company's Human Resources department or call the Athletics Development office 864.294.3469 to find out if you are eligible for a matching gift.
