High School: 2012 graduate of Christ Church (1A) Episcopal School...coached by Don Frost...played quarterback and also punted and kicked...passed for 3,500 yards and 46 touchdowns and rushed for 500 yards and 12 scores in 2011 to lead CCES to 13-1 record and state crown...two-time region player of the year and all-state pick...2011 state player of the year...selected to play in South Carolina’s North-South All-Star Game, where he kicked two field goals (27, 43 yds.) while teaming with Greer quarterback Reese Hannon and Abbeville cornerback Reggie Thomas — both Paladin freshmen — in the North’s 42-3 rout...all-region and all-state soccer honoree...member of 2011 CCES state championship soccer team.

Personal:  Full name is Hunter Wright Townes...born May 4, 1993, in Greenville, South Carolina...son of John and Kathy Townes...has two brothers, Rivers and Taylor...brother Rivers was a member of Furman’s football program in 2008...grandfather, Dick Wright, was a standout basketball guard for the Paladins (1956-58) and is member of Furman’s Athletic Hall of Fame...another grandfather, Bob Townes, also attended Furman...health sciences major.
