Brianna Temples is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Furman women's lacrosse program.
Temples joined the Paladins in 2022 after spending six seasons as the head coach at North Greenville University.
“I am super thankful to Kirkland Lewis for allowing me this opportunity to coach at Furman,” said Temples. “I am looking forward to working alongside her to expand my knowledge in the game and to work towards a Big South Championship. Furman has a winning tradition and I believe we can do something special for this program.”
She compiled a 51-46 overall record and 33-18 mark against Conference Carolinas opponents during her tenure in Tigerville highlighted by a 13-6 record in 2018. Temples also led the Crusaders to 10-win seasons in 2017 and 2019. She coached 25 All-Conference Carolinas performers highlighted by six each in 2019 and 2021. In her first season, Temples led North Greenville from two wins the previous year to a 9-9 record including four wins in the league. The Crusaders finished tied for third in the conference standings in 2021, while recording back-to-back 7-3 records in 2018 and 2019.
Temples joined North Greenville as an assistant coach in 2015 and was elevated to the head coaching role after one season.
“I am so excited to have Brianna join the Furman family,” Lewis added. “Her ties to the lacrosse community in the South, along with her knowledge on offense, make her a great addition to our program.”
Before going to North Greenville, Temples was the head coach at Hillcrest High School in 2014. Temples led the Rams to a program-best 13-2 record that season. She coached five All-Region, three All-State and three All-Upper State players.
Temples played collegiately at Converse College, where she was a four-year starter and team captain for the Valkyries. During her time at Converse, Temples was recognized as a second team All-Conference Carolinas selection in 2012 and earned Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll accolades. Temples is also in the Converse record books, finishing her career ranked second all-time in points and ground balls, and third in goals and assists.
Temples graduated from Converse in 2013 with a degree in English. She and her husband, Dillon, have a dog, Sawyer.
