Biography
Freshman Year (2009-10): Lundberg was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman team and to the All-Southern Conference second team for singles after tallying a 17-3 overall singles record and a perfect 9-0 league mark, playing primarily in the number three singles spot. After losing his first two matches of the season, Lundberg won 17 out of his remaining 18 singles matches. He notched a 6-3, 6-2 win at #18 Florida State then recorded a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-4 victory over #64 Clemson and a 4-6, 6-3, (10-6) win at #39 Vanderbilt, all in the number four singles position. Lundberg then moved to the number three singles spot, where he won 12 out of 13 matches to end the season. He posted a 6-8 overall doubles record and 3-5 conference mark. Lundberg was a member of the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Prep/Personal: Carl Lundberg completed his prep career at Pendleton School of Bradenton and trained under Percy Melzi and Reginaldo Moralejo. Lundberg was formerly ranked among the top 16 players in Sweden in the 12 & under division before coming to the U.S. to train at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. He was the winner of the Copn Mangu ITF. Carl W. Lundberg was born on Jan. 18, 1991 in Linköping, Östra Götaland, to Claes and Lena Lundberg. He plans to major in health and exercise science.
