Hunter Wright joined Furman in 2025 as an athletic trainer. She works with the Paladins’ women’s basketball and competitive cheerleading programs.
Wright came to Furman in 2025 after spending two years as an athletic trainer at Columbia International University where she provided primary care for men’s soccer, men’s track and field, softball, volleyball, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, and women’s track and field. She also served as the interim head athletic trainer for two months.
She worked for five months as a part-time physical therapy technician at Drayer Physical Therapy in Columbia, S.C., and, prior to that, worked on the seasonal athletic training staff for the Washington Commanders training camp.
Wright did an athletic training work study at Spalding from 2019-23 and served on the medical staff for the 2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country Regionals in Louisville, Ky.
She worked two internship rotations at Nortons Children’s Orthopedics in Louisville, Ky., from 2022-23 and followed from January-May of 2023 with the football program at the University of Louisville.
She earned two degrees from Spalding University. Wright received her Bachelor’s of Health Science in 2022 and a Master’s of Science in Athletic Training in 2023.
