Amanda Monahan is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Furman women’s lacrosse program. She will work primarily with the goalkeepers while assisting on defense.
A native of Marblehead, Mass., Monahan recently concluded a four-year career at Davidson College where she appeared in 54 games as a goalkeeper. She finished her career fourth all-time with 452 saves and compiled 34 victories.
As a senior, Monahan was a USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Honorable Mention All-American and ranked 42nd nationally in both saves and save percentage. She was named first team All-Atlantic 10 during her junior campaign after tying the school record for wins by a goalkeeper in a season with 12. Monahan started all 15 games as a sophomore and was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week three times. She made 15 saves in a 15-8 win over No. 16 Virginia Tech for the program’s first win in school history over a ranked opponent.
Monahan attended the Brooks School where she was an All-American in 2019 while also earning All-ISL honors twice.
She graduated from Davidson with a degree in communications.
