15th Ranked Wake Forest Shuts Out 68th Ranked Furman 7-0

Winston-Salem, NC - The 15th ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team shut out 69th ranked Furman 7-0 Monday at Leighton Tennis Stadium. The win moved the Deacons to 7-2 on the year with the Paladins dropping to 5-8.

Wake Forest grabbed the early momentum after winning all three doubles matches, giving them the 1-0 lead. In flight one Andrew Hamar and Todd Paul defeated Greg Maarschalk and Ben Pauluhn 8-5 while fellow Deacons Mariusz Adamski and Cory Parr downed Brian Crook and Bo Ladyman 8-2 at No.2. In the flight three match Brett Ross teamed with Charles Sartor for an 8-7(7) win over Scott Kahler and Will Kieffer. Wake Forest put away the match quickly picking up straight set victories in all six singles matches.

The Paladins return to action on Saturday, March 11 for a double header against South Carolina State and Gardner-Webb in Greenville, SC. Match times are set for 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM respectively.
