The 8th ranked Georgia Tech women's tennis team shut out Furman 7-0 Wednesday afternoon at the Mickel Tennis Center. With the win the Yellow Jackets improved to 11-2, dropping the Lady Paladins to 7-6 on the year.
In doubles play Georgia Tech quickly won the flight three match with Kacie Anson and Alison Silverio downing Lisa Bornt-Davis and Lauren Tomory 8-4. Furman answered with a win in flight two with Lauren Osborne and Jacqueline Eckert upsetting Georgia Tech's 47th ranked team of Whitney McCray and Kelly Anderson 9-8(6). Georgia Tech secured the doubles point with a win at No.1. The 12th ranked duo of Kristi Miller and Lyndsay Shosho defeated Furman's 28th ranked team of Laura Gioia and Marti Morris 9-8(3). Georgia Tech went on to win all six singles matches to secure the 7-0 shut out.
Furman returns to action on Thursday, March 23 when they play host to Wofford at 3:00 PM.
