GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Lady Paladins dropped to 1-2 on the season with a 6-1 loss to the ninth-ranked Tiger women's tennis team on Tuesday afternoon. Clemson swept the doubles matches and won five singles positions for the victory.

At the top doubles spot, Carol Salge and Federica van Adrichem defeated the Paladin duo of Laura Gioia and Natasa Manojlovic by an 8-3 margin. Ani Mijacika and Estefania Balda posted an 8-5 victory in the number two spot over Lauren Osborne and Monica Arguello, while Alexandra Luc and Ina Hadziselimovic teamed for an 8-2 win against Lauren Tomory and Christina Swindall.

At the number one singles position, 75th ranked Gioia earned the Lady Paladins' only win of the afternoon, with a 6-2 6-4 victory over 84th ranked Carol Salge.

The Tigers earned victories in the other five singles matches to take the 6-1 victory over the Lady Paladins.

With the win, Clemson improves to 2-0 on the season, while Furman falls to 1-2. The Lady Paladins return to action Friday with a match against UNC Charlotte set for 5:00 p.m.
