The Furman men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision against the Princeton Tigers at Jadwin Gym on Saturday afternoon. The Paladins (7-7) and Tigers (5-3) split the singles matches, but Princeton earned the critical doubles point, which proved the deciding factor in the match.
Furman tandem of Bo Ladyman and Jordan Walters defeated Ilya Trubov and Ryan Kim, 8-2, at number two doubles for the duo's eighth win of the season. Princeton managed to pull out 8-5 victories at both number one and three doubles to earn the overall team point.
In singles action, Ladyman earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over George Carpeni at number two. Senior Daniel Knause was also victorious for the Paladins, defeating Kim, 6-3, 6-2, at number four. Sophomore Sawyer Duncan improved to 10-2 on the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Ravi Yegya-Raman at number six.
Furman will look to rebound from the loss when the Paladins challenge Army tomorrow at 3 p.m.
