Daniel Island, S.C. – Furman's Austin Reeves (+3) claimed a share of fourth place with a final round 77 and the Paladin men's golf team tied for sixth place in the Southern Conference Men's Golf Championship at the par-72 Ralston Creek Course on Tuesday.
Reeves, a senior, was six-over par through 10 holes before notching two birdies on the back nine to finish the 54-hole tournament at three-over. The Greenville, S.C., native earned All-SoCon honors for the second time in his career while finishing 12 strokes behind individual medalist Stephen Jaeger (-9) of Chattanooga.
The Mocs (-3) fired the low round of the tournament, a seven-under 281, to cruise to a 19=stroke victory over second place Georgia Southern (+16) while College of Charleston (+18), Wofford (+23) and Samford (+25) rounded out the top five. Furman, which shot a final round 301, tied for sixth with Appalachian State at 33-over par.
