GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team will compete at Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship Friday through Sunday at the par 71, 7,100 yard Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
"With only two regular season events left until SoCon, we are very excited about the opportunity to play in a fantastic field at Vanderbilt this week," said Furman head coach Matt Davidson, the reigning SoCon Coach of the Year, who is in his eighth year leading the Paladin program. "It is a great chance to build momentum and finish the regular season strong before the SoCon Championship and hopefully beyond. To this point, the season has not gone to our expectations, but we have learned so much, and the guys are very determined to view this stretch run as a fresh start to play great and show everyone what we are capable of."
Furman's lineup for the tournament includes senior Harris Barth, senior Zach Frazer, senior Clark Akers, sophomore Ludvig Josefsson, and sophomore David Oliver IV.
The Paladins will be joined in the 14-team field by host Vanderbilt, which ranks 11th nationally, top-ranked, No. 12 Tennessee, 14th-ranked Ole Miss, No. 21 Charlotte, Ball State, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Princeton, Kentucky, Northern Illinois, Middle Tennessee State, and Western Kentucky.
The 54-hole tournament begins on Friday at 8 a.m. with all teams teeing off on No. 1. The Paladins will tee off starting at 12:07 p.m. and will play in a group with Vanderbilt individuals and Middle Tennessee State in the tournament's first round. Furman opened the 2025-26 season at the Gopher Invitational, where Akers and Frazer each shot 4-over to tie for 20th. The Paladins surged into eighth place as a team after recording a final-round 284. Barth then won the individual title at the Bearcat Invitational, marking the first individual victory of his career, with scores of 67-69-68=204, and led Furman with a sixth-place finish at SMU's Trinity Forest Invitational. The Paladins closed out the fall with a fifth-place finish at the Furman Intercollegiate.
