CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. -- Furman senior Wilkerson Given placed fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a personal-record time of 8:59.05 to lead the Furman track and field teams at the Virginia Challenge Meet in Charlottesville on Saturday.
In the 800m, sophomore William Ivey finished 18th after recording a time of 1:54.10, while junior James Perez notched a personal-best time of 3:51.51 for 35th-place in the 1500m. Senior Scott Des Marais competed in the discus event, taking sixth place with a mark of 44.53 (146-01).
For the Paladins women's team, sophomore Sinead Haughey placed fifth in the 10,000m, crossing the line in 36:51.95.
