Box Score USAFA, Colo. – Furman lacrosse was handed their third loss of the season on Saturday, falling to Air Force, 15-6. The Paladins (0-3) will now travel to Washington, D.C. to take on Army in their first neutral site game of the season on Saturday, February 22.
Six different Paladins scored a goal on Saturday. Graham Dabbs, Kenny Meinsen and Clay Adams each tallied their third goal of the season, while Dabbs added to his team-high assists totals with three today, giving him five on the season. Furman out-shot the Falcons, 32-28, and picked up 29 ground balls to Air Force's 23, but the Falcons were 16-17 on clear attempts and totaled 12 saves.
Air Force took an early 4-0 lead in the game, before Ben Levin scored his second goal of the season on an assist by Chase Hancock to cut the lead to 4-1 with 5:15 remaining in the first quarter. Air Force then scored eight-straight goals over the next quarter and a half to take a 12-1 lead into halftime.
The Falcons scored two early goals in the third quarter to push their lead to 14-1, but the Paladins scored three-consecutive goals to close out the third quarter and cut the lead to 14-4.
Air Force scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, but the Paladins scored their fifth and sixth goals of the day to make the final score, 15-6.
Frazer Kinsley and Jake Gavin split time in goal on Saturday, each recording three saves. The Paladins now face their fourth non-conference opponent next Saturday, as they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on Army.
