Box Score Greenville, S.C. – Furman tied a season high with nine goals and four different Paladins each scored two goals, but Georgetown's offense out-dueled the Paladins and the Hoyas came away with the 16-9 victory at Multi Sport Field in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday night. Furman (0-7) now has a week to prepare to face #6 Duke in Paladin Stadium on March 18. With the win, Georgetown moves to 3-3 on the year.
Zach Coker, Graham Dabbs, Matt Geran and Kenny Meinsen each scored two goals, while Danny Dorsett tallied one. Coker also had two assists and Ralph D'Agostino, Dabbs, Geran and Scott Primeau added one each.  D'Agostino picked up a team-high five ground balls and Jake Gavin recorded 19 saves.
Georgetown jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter, before Graham Dabbs got an assist from Zach Coker to put the Paladins on the board with 6:55 remaining in the quarter. Georgetown rebounded with a goal with 4:19 to go, but Dabbs responded for the Paladins to cut the lead to 4-2 with just 48 seconds remaining in the quarter. Georgetown then scored a goal with 17 seconds remaining to lead 5-2 after the first quarter.
The Hoyas opened the second quarter with three straight goals to push the lead to 8-2 before the Paladins got goals from Matt Geran and Zach Coker to cut the lead to 8-4 with 6:48 remaining. Georgetown pushed the lead back to five at 9-4, but two minutes later, Coker scored his second goal of the quarter to cut the lead to four at 9-5 heading into halftime.
Furman opened the scoring in the second half on a goal 15 seconds in from Danny Dorsett. Georgetown scored two-straight goals before the Paladins' Matt Geran scored his second of the day to pull Furman to within four again at 11-7 with 5:57 remaining in the third. The Hoyas then added two more goals to take a 13-7 lead into the fourth quarter.
Kenny Meinsen scored his 12th goal of the year with 12:26 remaining to, but Georgetown scored three unanswered to take a 16-8 lead. Meinsen scored his second goal of the day with 5:18 remaining to make the final score 16-9 in favor of the Hoyas.
Georgetown was led by Reilly O'Connor with five goals and Bo Stafford with four assists.
The Paladins return to action on March 18 at Paladin Stadium when they take on 6th-ranked Duke at 7:00 pm.
