CINCINNATI, OHIO -- The Furman men's tennis team captured two flight championships at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational this weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Junior Adam Steryous won the flight one championship.  Steryous downed Simon Jayaram of Dayton, 6-3, 6-1, then beat Mate Virage of Northern Kentucky, 6-2, 6-2, to reach the championship.  Senior Matt Browne recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win over Ritchie Kruunenberg of Morehead State, 6-4, 6-2, then defeated Dayton's Jordan Benjamin, 6-1, 1-6, 1-0(10-7), to face Steryous in the championship.  In the Paladin face-off, Steryous was victorious, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0(10-6).

Sophomore Josh Pistorius claimed the championship in flight three.  Pistorius downed Max Liu of Chicago, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0(11-9), then topped Sanit Francis' Rodrigo Tico, 6-2, 6-1, to earn a spot in the championship, where he beat Charlie Pei of Chicago, 6-2, 6-1.  Also in flight three, freshman Alex Steryous beat Gabriel Araujo of Xavier, 6-4, 6-2.

In other singles action, sophomore Cameron Green beat Peter Leung of Chicago, 6-3, 6-4, at flight two, while senior Ben Horst added a flight two victory over Morehead State's Sebastian Penaloza, 6-2, 6-4.  Sophomore Galen Arney recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win over Andy Druffel at flight four, and sophomore Ryan Massinople picked up a consolation match win over Enrique Samudio of Morehead State, 7-6(8), 4-6, 1-0(7)

The Paladins will compete at the Belton Invitational October 2-4.
