GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's cross country teams won the team title at the 44th annual Gene Mullin Invitational Saturday morning in Greenville, S.C.
The Paladins scored 29 points for the win, placing all five runners in the top 11. Senior Julia Rodriguez paced Furman, placing second with a time of 18:55.67 on the 5K course. Junior Jacquelyn Crow finished third after crossing the line in 19:08.53, and junior Becca Cooley turned in a time of 19:47.82 for fifth place. Senior Maddie Wolfe placed eighth with a time of 20:27.86, while freshman Anna Hayden completed the Paladin slate of runners in 11th place at 20:51.70.
For the Furman men, sophomore Quintin McKinnish led the Paladins with a third-place finish after completing the 5K course in 15:49.99. McKinnish was followed by freshman Patrick McNamara in fourth place with a time of 16:17.65, while rookie Thomas Moore turned in a sixth-place finish at 16:23.42. Junior Hayden Cox placed 29th after crossing the line in 18:13.48. The Paladins did not compete in the team competition.
Furman will compete at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., on October 15.
