Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team opens its 2016 season on Sunday, traveling to Nashville, Tenn., to take on Vanderbilt at 2:00 p.m. ET. 

The Paladins, in their second season of Division I competition, were picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic Sun preseason poll. Sophomore Samantha Eckels and junior Paige Gamble were each named Preseason All-Conference, while Gamble was selected as the Fan-Choice Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

The Commodores opened their 2015-16 season on the road last weekend, with a commanding 16-6 victory against Kennesaw State. Ashlin Dolan, a redshirt junior, led the Commodore squad with a career-high four goals on just seven shots.
