Air Force Downs Furman Men's Lacrosse

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Air Force used goals from nine different players to down Furman men's lacrosse, 14-4, on Saturday afternoon in both teams' Southern Conference opener. The win moves the Falcons to 5-2 (1-0 SoCon) on the year, while the loss drops the Paladins to 0-6 (0-1 SoCon).

Jonah Moore led Furman with two goals on the day, while Gus Pinsoneault and Zach Scott each added one. Moore paced the Paladins in points with three, adding an assist to his stat line.

Zach Scott got the Paladins on the board in the first period, drawing the score even at one on his third goal of the season. The Falcons then used an 8-0 scoring run over the rest of the first half and into the third quarter of play to take an 8-1 lead the Furman couldn't overcome.

Jonah Moore ended the Air Force run with 3:24 to go in the third on an assist from Finn Barry, but the Falcons responded with four-straight goals to take a 13-2 lead with 9:58 left in the game. Gus Pinsoneault and Jonah Moore netted back-to-back goals for the Paladins, but Chuck Goldstein scored with 56 seconds remaining to give the Falcons the 14-4 victory.

Furman is back in action on March 19, taking on Towson in Baltimore, Md., at 12:00 p.m.
