GREENVILLE, S.C. – ETSU downed Furman, 6-1, Friday at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C., snapping the Paladins' four-match winning streak.  With the win, ETSU improves to 4-0 in conference play while Furman moves to 2-1 in SoCon action. 

The Bucs won two out of three doubles matches to claim the opening point.  Rogerio Ribeiro and David Biosca topped seniors Ben Horst and Matt Browne, 6-1, in the top seeded contest, then Furman sophomore Josh Pistorius and junior Adam Steryous beat Ismael Merino and Wenceslao Albin, 6-3, at flight three to even the slate.  In the decisive flight two contest, Diego Nunez and Robert Herrera teamed up for a 6-4 victory over sophomore Cameron Green and rookie Alex Steryous to take the point.

In singles action, ETSU scored five singles points for the win.  Biosca posted a 6-7, 7-3, 1-0 (10-4) advantage over Adam Steryous in the number one contest, and Ribeiro defeated Browne, 6-4, 6-2, at flight two.  Herrera tallied a 6-3, 6-1 victory versus Horst at flight four, while Merino bested Alex Steryous, 6-3, 6-1 in the flight five match.  At flight six, Albin topped Pistorius, 6-1, 6-2.

Furman's lone point came at flight three, where Green beat Nunez, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4).

The Paladins (8-8, 2-1 SoCon) hit the road Sunday for a 3 p.m. match-up at Samford.
