CHATTANOOGA, TENN. – Top-seeded ETSU edged out No. 3 Furman, 4-0, Sunday in the finals of the Southern Conference Championships at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.  

The Bucs, ranked 55^th nationally, swept the doubles matches to take the opening point.  David Biosca and Rogerio Ribeiro, ranked 57^th nationally, teamed up to defeat seniors Matt Browne and Ben Horst, 6-4, at number one, and Diego Nunez and Robert Herrera downed freshman Alex Steryous and sophomore Cameron Green, 6-2, at flight two.  In the third-seeded contest, Sebastian Yllera and Ismael Merino beat sophomore Josh Pistorius and junior Adam Steryous, 6-4.

ETSU won three singles matches in straight sets for the victory.  Ribeiro posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Green at flight two, and Nunez topped Browne, 6-4, 6-4, at flight three.  At flight six, Merino tallied a 6-2, 6-2 advantage over Alex Steryous.

Matches at flights one, four, and five were unfinished, with each contest going into a third set.

Furman concludes the season with a 13-11 overall record and 5-2 regular season conference mark.
