VALENTINE, NEB. -- Senior Bryce Howell (+5) and sophomore Connor Bruns (+5) tied for 31st to lead the Furman men's golf team Tuesday at the Jackrabbit at the par 72, 7,785 yard Prairie Club in Valentine, Neb.
Howell birdied No. 9 for a 75 in the final round, while Bruns scored a birdie on No. 3 to record a 77 in the third round on Tuesday. Redshirt freshman Jake Reilly (+7) led the Paladins with five birdies and a 73 on Tuesday. Reilly scored three consecutive birdies on No. 14 through No. 16 to tie for 41st.
Freshman Liam McGrath (+13) carded a 75 with birdies on No. 6 and No. 11 to tie for 53rd, and rookie Stephen Reynolds (+15) placed 58th after scoring two birdies to tally a 78 on Tuesday.
Doc Redman (-13) of Clemson garnered individual medalist honors with a 63-70-70=203, leading the Tigers (-17) to the team victory. Missouri (-15) was second, followed by UCF (-10) in third place. Furman (+27) placed 11th.
Furman will compete at the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio, Oct. 3-4.
