Furman Rolls Past Bob Jones, 95-45

GREENVILLE, S.C -- Cierra Carter tallied 14 points to pace a contingent of six double figure scorers, and Furman claimed its fifth straight victory with a 95-45 triumph over Bob Jones in women's basketball action Monday evening at Timmons Arena.

The win closed out a season-long six-game homestand for Furman (9-9) and marked the Paladins' final non-conference game of the season.

Carter made 6-of-9 shots, including a pair fo 3-pointers, for her game high 14 points. Her 21 minutes action topped the squad as Paladin head coach Jackie Carson spread playing time among her 11 players in uniform.

DeAnneisha Jackson followed with 13 points and a game high eight rebounds, and Tiara Wood, Stephania Oramas, and Whitney Bunn chipped in 11 points apiece.  Tierra Hodges rounded out the double figure scoring effort with 10 points.

Oramas combined her season high point production with five assists in helping the Paladins' register a season-best 23 dishes.

Furman also dominated the boards, posting a 48-30 advantage.

Sha'Ron Brunson led Bob Jones with 12 points, and Sarah Thomsen finished with 10.

Furman scored the game's first 12 points, finishing off the early push with an Allison Beasley 3-pointer a little more than four minutes into the contest, and was never threatened.

The Paladins made 11-of-31 shots from 3-point range, including three by Beasley, who finished with nine points.

Furman returns to action and Southern Conference play on Saturday when it takes on Wofford in Spartanburg in a 2:00 p.m. game.
