Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Le'Jzae Davidson capped off a strong week by scoring 18 points to power Furman past Western Carolina, 66-46, in Southern Conference women's basketball play Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena.
Davidson, who on Thursday drained a last second, game-winning 3-pointer in the Paladins' 55-54 triumph over UNC Greensboro, retained the hot hand from 3-point range by making 5-of-9 treys to go along with all three free throws for her game high scoring tally against the Catamounts.
The win gave Furman (15-11, 5-6 SoCon) the regular season sweep of Western Carolina (5-21, 1-10 SoCon) and marked the Paladins' fifth straight victory over WCU in Greenville. It also moved Furman into fourth place in the league standings with three regular season games remaining.
Davidson was joined in double figures by Cierra Carter, whose 14 points gave her 1,312 for her career, and DeAnneisha Jackson and Celena Taborn with 13 points apiece. Jackson also finished with a game high 10 rebounds to along with four assists.
Lauren LaPlant led Western Carolina with 14 points, and Nikki Johnson contributed 13.
Furman never trailed in the contest and took control early, outscoring Western Carolina 23-10 in the first period, with Davidson's 3-pointer from the top of the circle completing the impressive start.
The Paladins extended their lead to 41-23 by halftime and twice led by a much as 26 points in the third period.
Furman shot 39.6 percent for the game, converting 21-of-53 attempts and 7-of-19 shots from beyond the arc. In the two wins over Western Carolina this season, the Paladins connected on 14-of-32 3-pointers (43.8%).
Furman also registered a 42-27 advantage on the boards limited Western Carolina to just 32.7% shooting (17x52).
The Paladins hit the road for their next two games, playing at Chattanooga next Thursday in a 6:30 p.m. game and at ETSU on Saturday in a 2:00 p.m. contest. Furman will entertain Wofford on Feb. 24 in its regular season finale.
