Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's basketball team tips off its 2019-20 season on Wednesday evening when it travels to Clemson, S.C. to face the Clemson Tigers at 7 p.m. from Littlejohn Coliseum.

Furman hosted Converse last Saturday in an exhibition game at Timmons Arena and walked away with a 79-55 victory. The Paladins had three players finish with 10 or more points in
Celena Taborn (15),
Lindsey Taylor (15) and
Grace van Rij (11).
Tierra Hodges contributed nine points, eight rebounds (game-high) and four assists.
Milica Manojlovic led all players with a game-high seven assists.
Furman concluded the game shooting 46.2 percent (30-of-65) from the field and held the advantage in points in the paint (42-26), points off turnovers (18-14), second chance points (20-8) and bench points (39-17).
The Paladins enter the season opener as the favorites to win the Southern Conference by the league's head coaches following a 19-14 campaign in 2018-19 and making their second appearance in program history in the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).
Furman, who is led by tenth-year head coach
Jackie Carson, returns four starters and 12 letterwinners overall. The Paladins also welcome in three freshmen newcomers.
Clemson finished last season with a 20-13 overall record and went 9-7 against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents. The Tigers appeared in the NCAA Tournament, falling to Mississippi State in the Round of 32. Clemson is under the direction of second-year head coach Amanda Butler.
The Paladins and Tigers are meeting for the 28
th time in program history on Wednesday with Clemson leading the all-time series 23-4. Furman, however, defeated the Tigers, 70-49, in the last meeting during the 2015-16 season in Greenville.
