GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Senior Natalie Srinivasan (-5) fired a 68 on Sunday to win individual medalist honors and lead the No. 18 Furman women's golf team to a runner-up finish at the 46th Annual Lady Paladin Invitational at the par-72, 6,278-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

The win marked the second-straight for Srinivasan, a Spartanburg, S.C., native who also claimed a victory at the Glass City Invitational in Toledo on Sept. 17.

Srinivasan, who entered Sunday's final round in a tie for fourth, parred her first nine holes before recording a bogey on No. 9 to turn at 1-over.  She started the back nine in a tie for seventh then posted four-straight birdies on No. 10 through No. 13 to move into a tie for the lead with Siyun Liu (-3) of Wake Forest.  The duo was tied through 16, but a bogey by Liu gave Srinivasan a 1-stroke advantage, then she sealed the victory with a final birdie on No. 18.  Jana Melichova (-3) of Old Dominion tied with Liu for second place after birdieing her final hole.

Freshman Anna Morgan (E) tied for eighth after scoring a 71 with three birdies, and junior Carly Burkhardt (+4) shot an even 72 with four birdies to tie for 16th.  Freshman Caroline Wrigley (+5) tied for 17th after recording a 73 with consecutive birdies on No. 2 and No. 3, and junior Madison Moosa (+13) tied for 43rd.  She tallied a 78 with a birdie on No. 18 on Sunday.

Four Paladins competed as individuals.  Senior Marra Burton (+15) led the Paladin individuals, tying for 50th.  She recorded a 76 with three birdies in the final round.  Sophomores Kyra Cox (+17) and Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (+17) tied for 55th.  Rhéaume posted a 74 with four birdies on Sunday, while Cox added a 77 with two birdies in round three.  Junior Caitlin Cotterill (+18) scored a 76 with three birdies on Sunday to tie for 60th.

Top-ranked Wake Forest (-1) won the tournament by five strokes over the Paladins (+4).  North Florida (+22) finished third, followed by Old Dominion (+27) in fourth.  South Florida (+28) rounded out the top five.

"We had a great weekend at the 2019 Lady Paladin Invitational," said Furman head coach Jeff Hull at the conclusion of the tournament.  "We were excited that Wake Forest, the number one team in the country, was able to participate.  They played very good golf, unfortunately just a little too good for us, as we tried to run them down at the end but came up a bit short.  I am really proud of Natalie.  I know she really wanted to win this tournament, and I was so proud of how she played on the back nine.  She has two wins in a row and really has solidified herself as one of the top players in the country."

Furman will compete at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational October 11-13 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
