BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. -- At the conclusion of Tuesday's second round, Furman (+17) and Audrey Ryu (-3) lead the 2026 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship, which is being held this week at the par-72, 6,150 yard Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, S.C.
A junior from Dublin, Ohio, Ryu posted a birdie on No. 3 and turned at even par. She added a second birdie on No. 17 to finish the day with a 1-under 71. Ryu leads the tournament by seven strokes over UNCG's Kasey McIlvaine (+4) and Sophia Gambini (+4) of East Tennessee State.
Four Paladins rank among the top nine, including freshman Olivia Hasselbach (+6), who is in sixth place after posting a 76 with birdies on No. 3 and No. 10 in round two. Sophomore Eva Ringwald (+7) and freshman Ava Hanneman (+7) are tied for ninth place. Ringwald recorded a 78 with a birdie on No. 18, while Hanneman carded a 79 with birdies on No. 6 and No. 11 on Tuesday. Sophomore Jenna Madden (+13) enters Wednesday's final round tied for 26th after scoring an 81 in round two. Furman, which is seeking its 22nd SoCon title, holds a ten-shot lead over Chattanooga (+27) with 18 holes to play. UNCG (+35) and Samford (+35) are tied for third, while East Tennessee State (+38) completes the top five.Â
The 54-hole tournament concludes on Tuesday with teams teeing off of No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 9 a.m. Furman will tee off on No. 1 beginning at 9:50 a.m. and will play in a group with Chattanooga and UNC Greensboro.
The winner of the SoCon Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, while the individual champion will also earn automatic regional qualification. The NCAA field will be announced live on the Golf Channel on Wed., April 29, at 5 p.m.
