Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's lacrosse team begins a three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon traveling to Annapolis, Md. to take on the Navy Midshipmen at 12 p.m. from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The Paladins (1-1) opened their home schedule last Saturday with a 19-4 win over Hampton at Paladin Stadium. Furman concluded the game holding a 67-19 advantage in shots and 44-30 in ground balls. The Paladins also forced Hampton into 36 turnovers.
Jarrett Birch and
Carson Sorrells each scored hat tricks to lead Furman offensively as 12 different players recorded at least one goal.
Brett Tenaglia,
John Holcomb and
Jack Dowd all scored two goals.
Keegan Pearl dished out three assists to go with one goal.
Anders Erickson also contributed two assists. In goal,
Alec Van de Bovenkamp recorded six saves to earn the win while
Andrew Jenet added two.
Sorrells and Erickson both lead the Paladins this season with six points apiece. Sorrells has scored a team-high five goals while Erickson contributes a team-best five assists. Tenaglia, Birch and
Tucker Brown have all scored three goals. Van de Bovenkamp has made 24 saves and compiled a .585 save percentage.
Navy is currently 1-0 after beginning its season last Friday with a 9-4 home victory over Manhattan. Christian Daniel leads the Midshipmen with four points on two goals and two assists. Henry Rentz and Nick Cole are both tied with Daniel for the team-lead at two goals. In goal, Ryan Kern has made 14 saves to go with a .778 save percentage and 4.00 goals against average. Navy is under the direction of first-year head coach Joe Amplo.
Furman is facing the Midshipmen for the first time in program history.
The Paladins continue their road trip next Saturday, February 22 traveling to Utah for a 2 p.m. matchup.
