Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team will honor senior
Jordan Lyons and the Furman University senior class when the Paladins host The Citadel in the regular season finale on Saturday at Timmons Arena. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and televised live on the Nexstar Network (CW62 in the Upstate).
Saturday's doubleheader starts with the Furman women's team taking on Wofford at 2 p.m., followed the men's game versus The Citadel at 4:30 p.m. The first 100 Furman seniors will get a free t-shirt, beginning at 2 p.m., and there will be a senior class photo taken on the court at halftime of the men's game. Cupcakes will be given to the seniors after the photo.

After downing UNCG, 81-67, on Wednesday night in Greensboro, N.C., to lock up second place in the Southern Conference standings and the No. 2 seed in next week's Ingles Southern Conference Men's Basketball Championship presented by General Shale, Furman (24-6, 14-3 SoCon) will look to set a new school record for SoCon victories and tie last season's school record of 25 overall wins with a victory over The Citadel. A Furman win and ETSU loss at home versus Western Carolina on Saturday could also secure the Paladins a share of the SoCon regular season title.
Saturday's contest marks the 213
th meeting between Furman and The Citadel with the Paladins holding a 125-87 series lead. The Paladins have won three straight meetings between the schools and 16 of the last 21 encounters, including a 78-54 triumph behind 22 points from
Clay Mounce in the first meeting of the season on January 25, in Charleston, S.C.
The Citadel game will mark the last regular season home game for Lyons, who has posted a 95-36 record in his four years at Furman and will graduate as the school's all-time winningest player. Lyons, who has guided Furman to an 11-0 record at Timmons Arena this season ranks 16
th in school history with 1,505 points and is Furman's all-time leader with 285 three-point baskets. The Peachtree City, Ga., native hit a school-record 105 triples last season and netted 54 points in victory over North Greenville last season to become the first Paladin to top 50 points in more than a half century.
The Bulldogs enter Saturday's game at 6-22 overall and 0-17 in the SoCon. The Citadel has dropped 17 straight games and will enter the SoCon Tournament as the No. 10 seed. Wofford and The Citadel will battle on March 6, for the right to play Furman in the quarterfinal round on Saturday, March 7, at Harrah's Cherokee Center Asheville at 6 p.m.
