GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman head football coach Clay Hendrix today announced the signing of four more recruits as part of the Paladins' 2020 recruiting class.

The latest signees join the 13 Furman recruits announced during the NCAA's December signing period and one early January transfer to compose the current 18-member class.

Two of the four latest additions are wide receivers from Knoxville, Tennessee: Bailor Hughes and Kelton Gunn.  The Paladins also signed defensive end Luke Clark from Louisville, Ky., and long snapper Julian Ashby out of Lilburn, Ga.

Hughes and Gunn were multi-position standouts at Powell High School and Hardin Valley Academy, respectively, and participated in the Tennessee East-West All-Star Classic.  Hughes accounted for 2,622 all-purpose yards and 26 touchdowns in his career and was a 5A Tennessee Sportswriters Association All-State selection as a punter in 2019.  Gunn, meanwhile, rushed for over 1,000 yards and was accorded Region I-6A Offensive Player of the Year honors after rushing for over 1,000 yards in 2019.

Clark fashioned an impressive senior campaign, totaling 99 tackles, 12 sacks, and 28 tackles for-loss in helping South Oldham (Ky.) High School to an 11-2 season and District Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Ashby, who scored 1530 on the SAT, handled snapping chores for three years at Parkview (Ga.) High School, seeing duty in 39 games and 276 snaps over that time frame.
