Atlanta, Ga. – The Furman softball team dropped a 3-2 decision to UAB and fell 10-0 versus top-ranked Washington on the final day of the Buzz Classic at Mewborn Field in Atlanta, Ga., on Sunday.

Analyse Petree delivered a two-out, bases loaded single back up the middle in the bottom of the seventh to help UAB walk off with a 3-2 victory over Furman in the opening game of the day.
The Blazers grabbed a 2-0 lead as Sierra Frazier ripped an RBI double in the first and Natalie Erwin belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Furman answered with two runs of its own in the top of the sixth.
Casey Bigham opened the frame with a single and
Amanda Fleming doubled to put two in scoring position with nobody out. After a pair of groundouts,
Natalie Morgan reached on an infield single to drive in the Paladins' first run and Fleming and Morgan executed a double steal to tie the game at 2-2.
Furman put two runners on in the top of the seventh, but failed to score. In the bottom of the inning, an error and single set the table for UAB before Paladin reliever
Bailey Tanner retired the next two batters. A walk loaded the bases for the Blazers prior to Petree's walk-off single.
Jaycee Cook (1-0) worked a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win for the Blazers, while Tanner (0-1) took the loss for Furman after allowing an unearned run on four hits in two and two-thirds innings of work.
Seven different Paladins registered a base hit. Faith Hegh and Frazier each went 2-for-3 with a base on balls to pace the UAB (4-1) offense.

The top-ranked Washington Huskies took advantage of three Furman errors to score five unearned runs in a 10-0 victory over Furman in the finale of the Buzz Classic on Sunday.
After scoring single runs in the first and second innings, Washington took capitalized of two Furman miscues to plate five unearned runs in a six-run bottom of the third to improve to 5-0 on the season.
Freshman
Riley Ludlam doubled in the first to put two runners in scoring position for the Paladins, but Washington's Pat Moore worked out of the jam.

Amanda Fleming worked walks in the fifth inning before Moore fanned
Tess Griswold to complete the shutout.
Moore (1-0) earned the victory by fanning seven batters over five shutout innings. She walked five batters and allowed just one hit. Furman's
Bailey Tanner (0-2), in her first start as a Paladin, gave up eight runs, just three earned, on seven hits over three innings to absorb the loss.
Furman (1-2) returns to action February 13-16, at the FGCU Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla.
