GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman blanked Gardner-Webb, 7-0, Sunday at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.

The Paladins won two out of three doubles matches to take the opening point.  Breno Plentz and Alex Griffiths downed Furman seniors Ivan Mitric and Drew Singerman, 6-1, at flight two, then senior Jake Bhangdia and junior James Roelofse evened the slate for the Paladins with a 6-3 win over Chrisjan Van Wyk and Sebastian Harris in the top-seeded match up.  In the decisive number three contest, senior Henrik Atlevi and freshman Emil Westling defeated Connor Enslin and Victor Putter, 6-4.

Furman swept the singles matches for the victory.  Mitric held off Plentz, 6-3, 6-7(9), 6-2, at flight one, and Bhangdia defeated Putter, 7-6(5), 6-2, at flight two.  In the number three contest, Atlevi topped Enslin, 6-3, 6-4, and Singerman blew past Harris, 6-0, 6-3, at number four.  Westling recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Van Wyk at flight five, and at number six, Roelofse outlasted Griffiths, 6-3, 7-6(5).
