stminute goal to propel Furman past USC Upstate, 2-0, in non-conference men's soccer action Wednesday evening at County University Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.
Joash put the Paladins in front at the 40:13 mark as
Sam Miller fed a pass to the Hampton Hill, England, native in the box and he snuck a low shot past the keeper to break the deadlock. Less than six minutes after the restart, Joash picked out Raine in the box and the freshman found the top-netting for his second goal of the campaign.

Ben Hale notched four saves to post his second shutout in as many matches this season for the Paladins. Felipe Baeza turned away two shots in a losing effort for USC Upstate.
USC Upstate (1-2-0) held a 10-8 edge in total shot attempts, while shots on goal were even at 4-4. The Paladins earned seven corner kicks to the Spartans' four.
Furman (2-0-0) returns to action on Wednesday, March 3, when its travels to face the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs in Boiling Springs, N.C.
