Jake Raine scored his second goal of the night in the 106
th minute to lift the Furman men's soccer team to a 2-1, double overtime victory over ETSU in the Paladins' Southern Conference opener Saturday night at Summers-Taylor Stadium in Johnson City, Tenn.
Dylan Lane raced down the left wing to chase down the ball and sent a long cross through the six-yard box towards the far post where Raine volleyed a right-footed shot past ETSU goalkeeper Josh Perryman at the 105:13 mark to hand Furman its third victory in four tries this season.
The road win improved the Paladins to 3-1-0 on the season and 1-0-0 in SoCon play, while ETSU fell to 0-4-1 overall and 0-1-0 in the league.

th minute when freshman
Josh Hosie centered a pass to Raine at the top of the box and the Stoke, England, native laced a driving shot into the lower left-hand corner at the 23:18 mark. The goal came after sophomore

Ben Hale and the Furman back line were tasked with turning away a flurry of point-blank shot that would have put the Bucs in front.
ETSU dominated the chances in the second half and levelled the match at 79:51. Kieran Richards played a cross towards the far-right post and Dominic Foster headed a pass back across the face of goal that Josh Hancock redirected into the net.
After going without a shot for more than 55 minutes, Furman recorded three shots in the second overtime period, culminating with Raine's fourth goal in four collegiate matches.
Hale stopped three shots to earn the victory for Furman, while Perryman notched two saves for the Bucs. The Paladins were outshot 15-8 overall with each team registering four shots on goal. Head coach

Furman returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Wofford on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
