Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team wraps up a two-game road trip on Saturday afternoon when it travels to Elon, N.C. to face the 25
th-ranked Elon Phoenix at 12 p.m. from Rudd Field.

The Paladins (3-2) have won each of their past three games entering Saturday's matchup following a 14-12 road victory at VCU on March 11. The last time Furman won at least three straight games came April 14-May 2, 2019 when it won five consecutive contests against Central Michigan, Delaware State, Howard, Wofford and Detroit Mercy (SoCon Tournament).
Hannah Demis finished with a game-high five points at VCU on three goals, her first hat trick of the season, and two assists, and was one of five players to score at least two goals in the contest.
Hannah Dintino provided three points on two goals and one assist.
Meagan Beal,
Lindsey Kelly and
Sydney McClure all had two goals. Beal,
Sydney Catts and
Meghan Deehan each picked up three ground balls. Four different players won two draws while three others caused two ground balls apiece. In goal, Deehan recorded a season-high nine saves.
Deehan was recognized by the SoCon on March 16 earning Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third time in her career.
Demis leads the Paladins this season with 22 points on seven goals and a team-high 15 assists.
Kyra LaMotte has scored a team-high 18 goals, and is tied for the team-lead with
Ellie Roser for ground balls (10).
Regan Lingo and
Avery Whitehead have both caused six turnovers, and Catts has won 13 draws. In goal, Deehan contributes 34 saves.
Elon currently sits at 4-0 on the season and is ranked 25
th in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll. Mae McGlynn leads the Phoenix with 17 points on a team-best 11 assists, while Margaret Stephan has scored a team-high 13 goals. Sara Bouwman adds 14 points and 10 goals. Kailee Follette contributes a team-leading 14 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Gillian Curran has won a team-leading 14 draws. In goal, Paulina DiFatta has 22 saves and a 5.51 GAA. Elon is under the direction of eighth-year head coach Josh Hexter.
Furman is facing the Phoenix for the first time in program history.
The Paladins return home to host Winthrop in non-conference play on Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m.
